Take a moment and watch this clip between Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank and Fox New reporter Bill O’Reilly. Congressman Frank is the chairman of the Financial Services Committee, and one of three chairman who were asked to stand down from their positions after the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae incident that contributed so heavily to the current economic crisis.
After watching this clip I ask: Was O’Rielly fair in this interview? Do you think he should stand down? Should Congressman Frank admit blame for what happened? Why or why not? Please don’t be shy and leave a comment. I’m very curious to hear other people’s perspectives.
This is pathetic to say, but this was the first time I have seen this clip. I thought that it was complete bull shit for Barney Frank to completely deny what he had said. It was obvious that he was caught in a situation where he looked bad, tried to go on t.v. to fix the situation and became too flustered to function. I thought it was interesting how he kept accusing O’Rieilly of “ranting” and “bullying” every time he was called out.
O’Rielly was probably a bit to harsh on the guy. He could of mellowed it out a bit once it became apparent that Frank was unable to say anything in his own defense.
